Will Jared Allen's DUIs work to the Chiefs favor?

He is a restricted free agent. It would cost a team a first and a third to lure him away from KC. I like Allen but don't see him worth that.

With the threat of a four game suspension looming. The Chiefs are not likely going far next year any way. Will he come at an affordable price? Allen has a hell of a motor and is only getting better.

We would be nuts or some team bend over to trade Allen now in his career.

D minded coaches wont do it.

Excellent choice for your first thread.

It might but I don't really see how. I am sure that if we are willing to overlook that so will other teams especiallly if Allen gets into a rehab program.

J Allen goes no where . Look at Denver they are dieing for pass rush/run stopper ,which Allen proved this year ,Matter of fact a lot of teams would like to have him . With Hali on one end Allen on the other the Chief are DT away from having a nice D line.

Wonder what the franchise tag would cost us for Allen?

A lot of dollars worth of Boulevard!

Why would we even use it when we can essentially accomplish the same by tendering him at the highest level for restricted free agents?

Rehab....he needs to blow off some steam at times.... get the boy a Limo driver/taxi... Alert all bars in KC. This can't happen again.

No, because he's going to miss the first four games, and whether we keep him or trade him, that will definitely hurt the Chiefs.

Being he is a RFA and not a true FA it means that if we tender him high enough most likely nobody will be able to come after him. The big thing is it sounds like he REALLY wants to stay in KC, of course it could just be BS interview stuff, but it didn't sound like it.

I don't guess we would. :banghead:
So then we should be able to tender him and not have to give him a contract right now? Basicly giving us a year to work out a long term deal?

Assuming he signs the tender, which he won't. I think the highest tender for a 4 year player is around $1.75 mill. He's gonna want a bunch of guaranteed money up front with a contract that averages $3M over the life of the deal.

Give him the money..Carl ...
