Question from Dish Network customers / DVR users:

I'm a new customer of theirs. Can somebody please post a cliff note version of how to set up the machine to record a future program (different from the one I'll be watching)?... IN ENGLISH!!!, rather than the incoherent language they use on their users manual?

On the guide just go to the show you want to record, and hit the record button.

Do you have a dual tuner PVR, like the 625? If so, use the Search function. Use the Menu or just hit # on your remote. Type in the program name and search. Once you have the event listed, just hit the record button on your remote. It will give you options to start and end early or later, and whether to record all events with that name, just once or daily, etc. I think at the end you have to select Create Timer, but I'm not sure. Sorry, but I'm doing this from memory.

Off the top of my head:

-Locate the program using the guide function on your remote.
-Press the select button on your remote
-A menu should pop up. You will need to select options like start recording a minute early and end 3 minutes after(I believe that is the default) and whether you want this timer to be a one time recording, a weekly timer, or record all episodes.
-Select set timer (or something like that) and you should be good to go.

Once you have successfully set up a future timer, it will show a red icon on that program when you locate it on the guide.

I do have dual. Thanks for the info. I'll try it when I get home tonight.

Meantime, the rest of you post your input. Thanks.

I don't know what model of dvr you have, so I'll just give you this link. Should give a good idea of how to do it.

I have the 625 and he covered it perfectly. Nothing more to add.

Sul mio DVR, arrotolo attraverso la guida fino a che non trovi il programma che desideri registrare e premo il tasto record sulla ripresa esterna. Potete anche usare la funzione di ricerca per individuare il programma. Buona fortuna. Spero che questo aiuti.
