PHOENIX -- Mark Prior and Kerry Wood will make their spring training debuts Monday when the Chicago Cubs play Seattle.

Both pitchers are coming off injury-shortened seasons. Prior was beset by shoulder problems and was put on the disabled list three times in 2006. Wood sustained a partially torn rotator cuff that ended his season in July.

"I told our pitching coach [Larry Rothschild] we'd answer all the same questions in one day," Cubs manager Lou Piniella said Saturday. "They're both nice and healthy. That's a good start."
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

The needs to be a poll on how many pitches each will throw before they need to be shut down for the 2007 season.

Prior will throw two innings of perfect ball. An old Soviet satellite will then fall from the sky, fragmenting into several pieces. During the course of this extremely unlikely event, one of those pieces will slam into his throwing arm. Wood, who is throwing in the bullpen at the time, will also be hit by one of the fragments.

They may be able to return by September.

What's so funny about Jason Marquis? It's not like someone who wasn't even deemed good enough to pitch for his team in the playoffs doesn't deserve $7,000,000 a year.

I'll have you know I threw three perfect innings against Atlanta with Marquis in MLB 2k7. :harumph:

I can't wait to see Pujols bat against Marquis.

BASEBALLS ON THE MOON
