I guess we moved just in time...
A guy on my bowling team, I, and our wives drove to another town to try their alley out tonight. Got a call as we were leaving from one of the church members that there had been a murder behind the church.
It actually took place across an open lot and street from the church but still. We lived next door to the church for 3 years and our house and the church are the only two buildings on the block. Part of me is sad at the tragedy, part of me just can't keep from thinking that two months ago our kids were outside playing in sight and range. |
Wow... I'm glad you all moved from there... That's spooky... Tragedy it is though...

Once PastorJohnWayne moves out, all hell breaks lose.

Maybe if you had stayed that person would have lived. And the price of gas would not have jumped to over $2.35 a gallon. A cure for global warming would have been found.

I wish I was only paying $2.35 a gallon. On the original topic. I'm glad you weren't in that place at the wrong time Pastor. |
Was it a random, drive-by type of thing, or another acolyte deal gone bad?
|
It is hard to imagine the relief you must feel. I am happy for you being away from such a heinous act.

Those "men of the cloth" are always such Nancy boys.

GOD was looking out for you. Good move.
Did you have a bad vibe about the area before you moved? |
once your positive vibrant energy left that place, all hell broke loose.
Glad your family is safe... has to be a relief. [/seriousness] If they catch the murderer, I bet he is a Mizzou fan. |

Don't know yet. The two involved were men in their 30s. If I had to guess, I would say it either involved either drugs or two guys fighting over one woman. |

I had a bad vibe about the area when we moved in. It's a rougher part of town and we had some questionable people walking by the house all the time. It is also half a block from the boundry line of two small town wannabee gangs (Which mainly results in lots of tagging and not much else). |

Mainly kids wanting to be tough. There are also racial groups and that creates some friction too. Last year we had a big fight in one of the city parks between a bunch of african americans and hispanics. One of the reasons Football is so big here is it is the one thing that unites all of the factions. |
