I wonder if Randy Moss can play Quarterback?

RAIDERS FOCUSED ON JOHNSON?

There's increasing talk in league circles that the Oakland Raiders are planning to select receiver Calvin Johnson with the No. 1 overall pick in the draft.

Johnson is the best prospect that we've ever seen. He's big, he's strong, he can jump, he's blazing fast, he has soft hands, and he's not a butthole.

Beyond the fact that Calvin is everything that Randy Moss ever was, and at least one key thing Moss isn't, the simple reality is that the Raiders surely want to turn it around sooner rather than later, given the advancing age and declining health of owner Al Davis.

And Johnson is in a much better position to make an instant impact than quarterback JaMarcus Russell.

Of course, Johnson can't be added until Moss is long gone. And, preferably, Jerry Porter, too. Why risk letting either of these malcontents infect a guy who is, for now, the rare exception to the rule that receivers generally are pains in ass.

He's a rare talent, but the Raiders will be stupid to take him. WR is probably the one position that is solid on that team.

As much as I would hate to see it, I think drafting Johnson is the right move for the Faiders.

I definitely think the Raiders drafting Johnson would be the right move for the Chiefs.

That OL is going to be shitty for at least two more years. They need a talented playmaker at QB who won't snap in half after he endures 120 sacks over that timespan.

Yeah.

If their QB isn't talented and can't stay on his feet, we won't have to worry about Johnson.

As someone who's genuinely a fan of Calvin Johnson, I really don't want to see him go to Oakland. Not because I fear what he might do to us. Rather the fear that his career will flounder and he'll never amount to anything.

As a Buccaneer fan I want to see Calvin Johnson in a Buccaneers uniform. But if the Raiders draft him someone will try and sell the farm to get up to Russell.

I think you have to take the best player on the board when you have the #1 pick.

Crush 03-18-2007 12:47 PM

If the Raiders pick Johnson, I will laugh my ass off. They need a QB.

riiiiiight, because they are really just one great WR away from a championship

If the Moss for Rodgers trade happens, it might not be a bad move for the Raiders. Rodgers-Johnson sounds better then Russell-Moss, IMO.

You should have told Houston that last year.

As long as our QB is allowed to be pummeled every down he touches the ball, it really doesn’t matter who’s in the back field.
Heck we need a short stop not a WR, the ball never get’s far enough to need them anyway.
Porter and Moss could be electrifying
IF we had a QB
IF Porter got over himself
IF Moss decided to play
IF they would throw ego’s aside and play the game.
We need an offensive unit WITH a QB who’s made of steel, but can move.
DAMN YOU BUC"S!
If Gannon were still playing we’d actually look like a football team!!!!! :cuss:

We've got a freaken genious as a Def Coach who has turned a joke into a solid play making unit.

You' let Tui learn from the side lines. The Boy is ready to play, but NOOOOOOOO you've led him to the slaughter in every damn game he's played, then tagged him as no good.
The boy can probably read the opositions Def lines better than the boy's up in the booth can.
He's been at eye level watching them for years.
He's HEALTHY for cryingt out loud.
He's got an arm
You brag him up with the practice squad. What is the problem???

Ok rant is over.

Because drafting far and away the best player in the draft is funny or something to be happy about when it's our division....
