NL grass looks greener now

http://www.kansascity.com/sports/story/143959.html

Article about the Royals switching to the NL when they had the chance. Personally I was glad that the Royals stayed in American League. Just seeing what other fans opinions of it were.

Well, our pitchers can't be any worse at batting than the rest of the team...

Speaking from firsthand experience, yes, the NL's grass is greener.

NL = real baseball
AL = fake, wannabe baseball with a DH

Worst decision ever

Eh, it's all pretty much hindsight. It's not like the Brewers have torn up that division in the last decade either. I do agree that I bet we'd be a lot closer to .500 against that division now though.

That said, it's still all in hindsight, because just now is the NL Central a crap division. For the longest time the AL Central was the weakest division, and the NL Central had the Cards, Astros... the Cubs with Prior and Wood, etc.

I don't understand this line of reasoning at all. I'd much rather see a hitter hit than a pitcher flail.

I think attendance wise it would have helped... You could probably be sure the K would have been sold out everytime the Cards or Cubs came to town for a weekend series...

As far as more wins, eh -- not too sure about that... It could be possible I guess... Change can always be good, or be the death of you...

It makes for much more strategy. Being the fan of an NL team, it's made me appreciate baseball a lot more.

It's a dumb rule. The Pitcher should hit. Some are actually good at it and it makes for a more compelling game. And less old guys who can't do anything but take a big swing and sit down.

I like the strategy involved with the double switches and all for the NL, but it takes away from the game IMO. I mean sometimes you have to pull the pictcher bc he will have to hit and vice versa. Personally I think its what team and league you grew up with in what you like to watch.
