Meeting your best friend. How?

Consider for a moment your best friend in the world, if you don't count immediate family members such as spouse, sibling, parent, child, etc.

How did you meet that person?

You will be shocked to learn that a poll is forthcoming.

got in a fight with him. a bloody one. then two weeks of pure shit talking and another less bloody fight. then we talked it out. since then we've been best buds and are now moving in a house together.

It was the 7th grade... and nearly a quarter century later we're still the best of friends.

Kind of odd really, he is 18 years younger than I. He used to follow me drag racing, then when I quit, he started. I mentored him for a few years, now he has far surpassed anything I did on the drag strip. He has been successful Nationaly. The age difference has had zero effect on our friendship.
Oh, the closest selection I could find in the poll, was everyday activitives
:banghead: I just found the adult hobby category, sorry.

Speaking of age differences, my secretary is 61, and her best friend is 24. Not sure how they met...don't really care.

On the topic of age differences, my mom's best friend for several years was a girl who graduated in my class in high school. They were bank tellers and worked right next to each other, and met when I was in college. It was a little weird for me.

Best friend from childhood, met in 3rd grade class. Lost touch with when I went off to university. Still on good terms when I run into him back home.

Best friend from college, met in marching band. He's a pharmacist in S.D. somewhere. Calls to chat every once in a blue moon.

Present best friend, law school study group. Goin' golfin' in the mornin'

Were you a little jealous? I know my daughters are very close to the same age as my buddy, and have always been just a little jealous of the friendship.

I developed a pretty good friendship with one of the grad students I worked with a few years back. I'm 18 years older than he is.
