Giants/Jets unveil new stadium design

I like it. Simple, yet effective.

I still dont understand why they cant each have their own stadium? They play in one of the biggest cities in the world. The Mets and Yankees dont share....

So when its a home game for the Jets and a home game for the Giants..on the same day...there will be 4 teams on the field at once....

that may cause some confusion...

Its still going to be in New Jersey.

Chiefs & Rams have a hard time sharing a state. Good thing the rolling roof didn't pass -j/k.

I didn't read the article, but if each team has a HOF area. I would think the New Yorkers of one team would trash the HOF of the other. Joe Namath's bust would get a loogie or two

Are you serious?

You should have stuck with anonymous mom jokes.

Because real-estate is at a premium in Manhattan. Have you ever looked into rental prices in NYC? Beside the fact that there isn't room for two enormous football stadiums, there's really no need. Public transportation directly to the stadium? Perfect!

And why spend $2.4 billion when you only need to spend $1.2 billion?

Oh and last time I checked, each NFL team only plays 10 games a year at home. In baseball, each team plays 81 games at home.

That's a little bit different.

Looks pretty standard. At least they were smart enough not to make it one of these open ended stadium like seems to be the trend anymore. Why you would sacrifice decibels for a pretty view is beyond me.

VonneMarie 09-05-2007 12:14 PM

It's kinda ugly to me.

Good points. I guess thats why Stadiums end up in dumpy parts of towns alot of times. Real estate is cheaper there.

preseason.

The bowl looks nice I guess - pretty standard. I don't particularly care for the grid of metalwork on the outside, though. Reminds me of Invesco.

fan4ever 09-05-2007 01:18 PM

Not enclosed? Kind of surprised by that considering all the new stadiums are built with hosting the SuperBowl in mind.
