I was reading San Diego Trib that Chargers got a 3rd rd pick from us for D. Edwards.

Does any one know if we have an extra pick in the 3rd round to make up for the one we gave away? I thought we had all our picks next year.

They don't evaluate compensation picks this early.

We also don't lose a pick. San Diego would just gain one.

Donnie was a Free Agent, right?

BigRock 10-17-2007 12:08 PM

The Chargers let Donnie go. They don't get a thing from us.

Phobia 10-17-2007 12:10 PM

Did they release him or just elect not to resign him? If they cut him they're entitled to zero compensation. I'm not sure they'd get third round compensation anyway. Only the most productive and highest paid players draw a third rounder.

WTF. No way we give them a pick. Maybe the LEAGUE would give them a pick, but not the Chiefs.

Smith conceded he paid a “steep price,” sending Miami a second-round pick in the 2008 draft and leaving the Chargers with no choices between the first and fourth rounds (although they expect to receive a third-round compensatory selection for Donnie Edwards).

The highest possible pick is at the end of the 3rd.

great! I thought we had to give up a 3rd rounder for him.

It is BS if they get a 3rd for Edwards.. Second day no problem, but a third is ridiculous..
