K. Smith = Starting KC RB

Now that Smith has proven (albeit one game) that he can be an NFL quality starting RB, will Herm keep LJ on the bench for a prolonged period of time either due to:

1. Just being cautious about the injury?

or

2. Smith is more explosive?

or

3. The injury is worse than they are letting on?

Smith showed some nice abilities today and I think the Chiefs are being overly optimistic about LJ's injury. IMO they are being more hopeful than anything. I believe he will miss at least two - three more weeks at a MINIMUM.

Herm let out a sigh of relief today after seeing Smith give a quality start. Now if they will just open the playbook for Croyle.

Kolby looked good, but let's not get silly.

That was the 31st (?) rush D.

I'm excited about him... but it's pretty early.

Kolby Smith had a phenomenal game.
However this was the Raiders' run defense.
As I said in the game thread, a 300lb lineman could rush for a 100 yards against the Raiders.
Lets hope he does half as well the rest of the year as he did today.

I agree, however, I think his performance gives Herm the ammunition he needs to keep LJ on the bench for a few more weeks.

LJ might as well sit out the rest of the year. Whats the point of bringing him back? Honestly...

Rest up LJ.

Well, SD, Denver, and NYJ have pretty crappy run D's as well, so regardless of who is in there, our running game should look much better in the coming weeks.

Maybe we can get some nice play-action-passes if we can force the D to respect the running game.

It sucks arse that Smith did that well today and we still couldn't come away with the win.

God no. Horrid can sit on the bench for the rest of the year. What Brodie did against Indy was damn nice, but he's going to have off weeks..especially considering this was his second start. He made some bad throws, some really bad throws, and some pretty nice throws. We have to stick with the guy, his upside is 1 billion times better than anything Horrid brings to the table.

This season was pretty much a lost cause when Denver beat us at home, and it's deader than sh*t now, so now we might as well open up the playbook and let Brodie air it out.

Herm is losing his a little bit of his conservative style each week. Maybe be the end of the season, we'll actually attempt 5 or 6 passes of 20+ yards in a game.

Too bad the price of a Arrowhead beer will be $177
to make up for the empty stadium

That's not too far off from what it is now.

And yes..it's gonna be an empty house. The game today was pretty sad. I went to the Cincy game earlier this year and was a bit surprised at the number of empty seats..then I went to the Broncos game and it was about the same...but today was pretty damn bad.
