Tech help or another tard: Office trial locked

I have a new laptop with a 60 day trial of office 2007.

When the trial expires, all your documents are locked, read only.

Well...my Word docs (.docx) are locked and it has been only 48 hrs. It appears my program thinks the trial is expired. Yea!

I ****ing hate microsoft so much.

Anyone familiar with this, or have a suggestion other than going postal?

googled, but nothing...mostly idiots whose trials have ACTUALLY expired being told to buy the damn program.

sigh...

I have open office which I am getting ready to install, but I bet it won't be able to open the documents since Micropig has them under lock and ****ing key.

I'm a computer reerun, I got nothing.

well, I found a "docx converter" program online

so now I can open the doc in google docs and work on it...

a short term solution, but I can't use my brand new computer to work on it becuase microsoft is run by fascist assholes who deserve to die...

Buy Office 2007. Or wait for Open Office 3.0

I'm not sure why it croaked on you so quickly, but if you need anything backward converted to .doc or anything just let me know. We run Office 07 at work.

It's also not difficult to "acquire" a copy of 07 if you need it.

thanks, I got them converted finally...now I am contemplating whether to buy 07 or say f it and install open office...

i have nothing against "acquiring" a copy, but I don't want to risk screwing up my new 'puter with microsoft's authentication bs and supposed "kill switch"...being locked out once is enough...

many programs use the internal clock to determine the expiration date for trials .... but since people start "hacking" the clock to work around it they got really finicky about it.

if your widgets messed with the internal clock at all it could cause the Office program to "take it's ball and go home" due to trial/clock hack prevention.

Hi Bill, your products suck.

Several of the 60 day trials are actually only 28 use trials.
