The Canyonlands are great .... Anasazi ruins, great rock formations, canyon mazes, hidden springs, 4wd country everywhere ....
|
Damn, I thought you were gonna say something funny about mormons. Disappointed.

A trip to that part of Utah is like a trip to the moon. The rock formations do not look like they should be of this world. Camping there and sleeping under the stars was one of the best trips I've ever taken.

I'm not sure there's a prettier drive in America than the drive from Denver to the Grand Canyon. You get the mountains in Colorado, then the rock formations near Moab, and then you go through Monument Valley on the reservation, and then end up at the Grand Canyon, which is, well, the Grand Canyon. I love that drive.

I did Zion and Bryce this year for the first time. I was quite impressed. Already planning another trip.

We were out there three years ago. Beautiful area.

Driving up this "road" was a blast.

Moab is awesome, but I can't help getting a little depressed when I've been back more recently. When I first went, there was one hotel and a local diner. That was about it. It's changed quite a bit. Throughout college, my crew and I would make 1-2 trips a year to either Moab or Zion.

Yeah, it's quite the little tourist trap now. But God knows I've seen worse.

We had to climb this rock to get to the double arch in the first post. It was a little over 4 miles round trip over some pretty rough terrain.
