R.I.P Gary

http://www.kctv5.com/traffic/17999514/detail.html

This was the top story on all news stations in KC at noon.

Gary went to school when he wrote in his journal during english class about what was on his mind. He turned it into his teacher and left school. Sometime before 9:30, Gary sent a few of his close friends a text saying "goodbye."

Gary was a friend of mine during high school and I always enjoyed talking to him. I just don't know why he made this choice.

I would apprechiate all prayers.

R.I.P Gary. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

oh wow. Sorry to hear man

Phobia 11-17-2008 07:40 PM

I'm sorry for your loss dude. I won't feel sorry for Gary. Gary was a self-centered a-hole with zero regard for his family or friends. His entire legacy is defined by this one moment, taking the lazy way out. If he were an acquaintance of mine, I'd attend the funeral for his family's sake and then expel him from existence. I simply cannot and will not tolerate suicide.

I cannot disagree very much..I am just very frustrated with the choice he made. He had personal issues that I am not willing to share, but he could have done something about it rather than this.

He had straight A's in all of his classes. He had scholarships flying at him like crazy. He had a good future..

KcMizzou 11-17-2008 07:45 PM

Sorry to hear it, man.

Sorry for your loss, dude. there was a similar situation here last week where a man tried killing himself by driving his truck 100mph into the woods at the end of a road. unfortunately he T Boned a 43 year old Man with 3 children, killing him instantly. the individual that tried killing himself survived the crash.

I agree with Phobia's sentiments.

I had a friend shoot himself memorial day weekend. When you are in deep depression or high anxiety there doesn't seem to be any hope. You just want relief.

I see you've been taking sensitivity lessons from vailpass.

Nice post, Phil. :shake:

Sorry for your loss, Farzin. Kids do stupid things, and sometimes they don't get a second chance. Try to remember the good things.

Sure-Oz 11-17-2008 07:50 PM

Sorry to hear your loss, everyone else suffers...it's too bad he couldn't have talked to someone atleast

Demonpenz 11-17-2008 07:50 PM

Suicide isn't always selfish. There are many cases where people feel they are a burden and everyone would have a better life without them.

I'm the only one bold enough to say a lot of things that are true. Farzin needs to be angry about this event. It's a good emotion when managed properly. He has every right to be mad at his former friend. His former friend just abandoned everybody and left them to clean up his mess. Screw him.

Rationalization for taking the easy way out.

I'm not a qualified expert and I'm not looking to pick a fight with anybody. My comments were designed to help Farzin feel better about it instead of feeling badly about the whole situation.

Sure-Oz 11-17-2008 07:57 PM

I'd be pretty pissed at my friend for taking his/her life if that happend, it is selfish and everyone else suffers and feels the pain. Life is freaking tough but you live once, the ahhh **** it routine is bullshit imo as well.

Yes, it's true. But perhaps you could wait until the body's cold before you start pissing all over it.

A troubled kid made a horrible decision he'll never get a chance to make amends for. That doesn't make him the ****ing boogieman.
