Herb Taylor will start next season. But where?
He played very well at LT in the preseason.
But he's only played "pretty good" since, and it's not hard to see why. He's stepped in to play LT, RT, and RG at multiple points this season. We're asking Herb Taylor to back up our entire line. Which tells me, of course, that the Chiefs really want this guy on the field. But where have you noticed him playing best? I think he can excel at RT, but he didn't play too bad inside for the couple series he was in at RG yesterday. |

Probably for Denver the way we let people go. He'll play his way out of KC for a 4th round draft pick. :banghead: |
RT, please please for the love of God get McIntosh out of that position.

I would be happy with him at either RG or RT and based on his play yesterday I suspect the Chiefs feel the same way. This means the team has flexibility to get the best OL available in FA or the draft be it a G or OT.

Herb's strength is his pass blocking. He is not a powerful run blocker. Herb should remain a backup. The chiefs should draft a RT and move McIntosh inside to play guard. McIntosh can run block. He gets in trouble with speed pass rushers. He won't have to deal with those inside.

I'd like to see Taylor at Right Tackle, but only if he's genuinely ready to step into that role. Otherwise I'm fine with having a Bober type of Offensive Lineman that can fill in when someone goes down.

isn't Herb the new Bobber
only effective as Bobber wasn't |
Herb will be with the Chiefs for a long time, I hope. Needs more reps and to get lower.

Taylor at Center.
Niswanger at right guard. Draftee at right tackle. |

Niswanger needs to be at right guard, Taylor can start at right tackle, and we can get a free agent center.
