"Bosz56" is former KSU and Denver Broncos linebacker, Terry Pierce.

Having played in Denver for Shanahan, what's your reaction to his firing today?

There is no denying that Shanahan brought to Denver what no other coach was able to bring in winning two super bowls. But to me, it is his arrogance that ruined his stay. Pat Bowlen (the owner) would have given Mike the keys to the damn city after those two super bowls. You could tell that Shanahan had waaaaaay too much power. He only kept the players around that he liked and it didn't matter whether or not they were performing. I will say that as an offensive coach, the guy is as good as it gets. But as a GM/VP, his arrogance doesnt allow him to do the job. The defense that we had in 2003-2005 was really good(#3-#6 ranking in the NFL). He got rid of the entire defense. Deltha Oneal, Trevor Pryce, Mario Fatefehi, Al Wilson, Myself, Jashon Sykes, Sam Brandon, Kennoy kennedy, Darius Watts, George Foster (this includes several 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round picks) even Jason Elam wasn't paid minimally for all the success he brought to Denver on his leg. When I got released, it was on the heels of an awesome training camp along with several others. That year he released 8 players that were in the two deep on defense ( something no team does). We were all high draft picks and it was very surprising that most if not all of us did not get picked up by other teams. This happens a when you leave Denver for some reason. Those are the players that continue in the system when your previous all-stars get old. To put it bluntly, he ruined a lot of careers in Denver. And, he didn't care. It was ok until the outrageous things he was doing turned into losses.

I remember when that happened. I thought it was a knee-jerk reaction to the playoff losses to Indy. Indy was a team of destiny...nobody could stop them. KC should have grabbed some of those players instead of yahoos like Glenn Cadrez.

Pretty much what everyone knew about Shanahan for a few years now.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

In Herm's case absolute power reeruns absolutely...

Let me hazard a guess: "Because you suck?"
