Would Gonzo have made a winning difference

...for the New York Giants in the playoff game against the Eagles?
Could he have been the difference in taking them to the Super Bowl?
He could of been had for cheap & wanted to be a Giant

have, could have

It's tough to say, I mean, if my bicycle had 3 wheels, it'd be a tricycle, but since it doesnt it isn't.

Kevin Boss is a solid TE. To be honest, I think the Eagles are just a better team right now.

sure, why not.

cdcox 01-13-2009 05:51 AM

Doubtful. Boss was already their leading receiver and isn't a bad TE. They were lacking a play-making deep receiver like Plax -- Gonzo wasn't going to fill that role for them. Also Eli's arm isn't really suited for windy conditions like they had Sunday.

EyePod 01-13-2009 08:13 AM

Yes. The Eagles are terrible at covering TE's. Witten (twice), Vernon Davis, Heath Miller, Greg Olsen got a TD against them, Boss once in the regular season and once in the post season...

Tony is a hell of an upgrade receiving-wise compared to Kevin Boss. But yeah, their blitzing leaves passing lanes for the TE, and Tony would have easily destroyed that team.

Deberg_1990 01-13-2009 08:38 AM

Yes, because look at all the titles Tony G has brought the Chiefs.

Demonpenz 01-13-2009 09:03 AM

Dawkins would have knocked tony the f-out

Fritz88 01-13-2009 09:07 AM

He could have made a difference, not sure if it's a winning one though.

I love Gonzo, but I still can't help but think back to the playoff game against the Colts where he dropped some pretty key passes in that game. He hasn't played in a whole lot of playoff games, but the ones he has played in, he has not been impressive.
