Does Pioli pursue high priced free agents?
Or what about regular free agents? Older guys?
|
I'd say until Pioli and whoever the Head Coach is decides the team is on the cusp of contending for a title, it'll probably be a bunch of no-name Free Agents that fit the system.
|
He said that before he would consider free agents, but they usually wanted too much money due to the fact that the market was set so high. So he's into high priced free agents as long as they're worth the high price. Don't count on a lot of guys cruising for that last big contract.

See Amniorix's posts in this thread:
http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showt...ht=free+agents He'll go after big name FA as long as 1) the player fits their system in terms of ability and attitude and 2)the value is there. If the $ go beyond the worth of the player, the Chiefs will bow out. Expect to see a lot of lunch bucket guys that are real football players and maybe not huge names. |
mr. cox nailed it.

cdcox is right on.
Watching the Patriots from afar it's all about value deals. Ever since they became so damn successful they have been able to get big names to sign there for very reasonable terms, but that won't happen here until after we win a lot of games. So I'd pretty much expect things to continue as they have under Herm this last year - bringing in a lot of no-names, young guys, etc. looking for gems in the rough. |
