I'm asking because the thought of this makes me cringe.

Cannibal 01-21-2009 10:53 PM

Shanahan isn't shit without Elway and hasn't won shit without Elway. I would not be for his hiring in the slightest.

Reerun_KC 01-21-2009 10:53 PM

Man I just dont know...

Shanahan is like the anti-christ... Like I said in another thread...

It just feels dirty, very dirty, like sleeping with your sister kind of dirty...

DaneMcCloud 01-21-2009 10:53 PM

Yeah, I'm sure Jets fans were pissed when Parcells was hired after coaching the Patriots.

:shake:

Not for me, Man.

It's the TEAM and CITY, not the players or coaches.

I think this runs deeper than that did.

Well I really wanted Shanahan when he was winning in the 90's, instead of Marty...

But one thing, this will totally remove the stench of ass that is anything Marty, Herm, Cowher, Carl, Gun, DV or whomever was from that ass of shit coaching tree from Arrowhead for good...

So looking at it that way, I can get behind the hire...

Again this is just a bad argument that doesn't make sense.

Alll SB coaches have great players.

What would Dungy be without Manning?

What would Belichick be without Brady?

What would Holmgren be without Favre?

At least Shanahan is aggressive in looking for QBs because he realizes you have to have one to have a chance at the SB.

Yeah, right.

The Jets have sucked since 1969, watching the Patriots go to the Super Bowl in 1986 and with Parcells in 1996.

He even brought along his HOF running back when he moved from Boston to New York.

No history there, right? ROFL

No, it's not the same.

It's worse.

I'll give you that. Just my opinion that what I've seen out of him after Elway left was pretty much mediocre. Plus I hate him :)

Bugeater 01-21-2009 11:01 PM

I wouldn't be totally pissed about it, and I like the fact that he'd want to stick it to the Donks as bad as the fans do. It would be a very controversial and ballsy hire.

I don't think we can forget when Denver put grease on their jerseys during the '97 playoff game. The Chiefs and Broncos haven't had as much bad blood recently, but there's plenty of history.

Dungy would be Dungy in Tampa.

Belichick took a 7th rounder (not a 6th rounder) who never started in college and won 11 games his first season.

Holmgren had Brunell, Aaron Brooks and Hasselbeck in Green Bay. He'd be fine.

I'm sorry but your "point" has no validity.

Not only he wants to stick it to the Donks, but for also added pleasure, he also wants to stick it to Greasy Uncle Al and the Raiders as well.

Brady is a 6th rounder FWIW.
