Sounds like there's a real good chance Herm will indeed wind up in Indy...
Edwards told FOXSports.com's Jay Glazer that he was fired at 3 p.m. CT, with new general manager Scott Pioli telling him the team wanted to go in another direction.
"That's OK," Edwards told FOXSports.com. "I told (Pioli) I didn't need an explanation. I understand the business. I'm OK with it. "I'm going to take until after the weekend to decide what I want to do next. I need to talk to my wife and see which direction I want to go." Edwards said he will decide between taking time off, doing TV, and being a defensive backs coach, a job he truly enjoyed before becoming head coach of the New York Jets. Edwards said he does not want to be a defensive coordinator. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/9...wards-as-coach |

He would probably be a very good defensive back coach. |
...or he finally realized he isn't fit for the job of head coach.

Herm can be the quality control assistant on my Pop Warner staff.

Herm can't head coach for sh**! But he defintely has an eye for DB's. I'd say this would be the best place for him IMO. That said, pack your bags Herm and get GTFO of town!! :thumb:

I wish him well.

OK... to be clear... isn't this the second head coach we have had that could not only not get another HC gig, but can't even get a coordinator position either? Whats the common factor?

it's not that far fetched to think dungy would endorse him for the job in Indy.
