Predict the future of NFL Draftees.
Rules of this thread:
1. No discussion of "positional value". That's not what this thread is about. 2. No complaints about who I included or didn't include. 3. No caveats about "well, I don't know what team/system he's going to". We're playing the odds here. 4. No claims that the Apollo missions were faked. 5. No discussions of the impact of unions on the viability of American auto industry. 6. No murder-suicide pacts can be made in this thread. 7. No filibustering. 8. Any use of mystical Nostradamus-like powers must be reported within 24 hours of voting. 9. No use of the letter "w" in this thread, other than the original post. 10. No gouging with the thumb. Due to space issues, there will not be a "don't know" option, for which we apologize ahead of time. |
Sanchez and Stafford will be out of the league in 3 months.
Curry will play QB, and all three LB positions, as well as serving as a rotational DT. He will pass for 6100 yards his first year and 81 Touchdowns, accumulating 91 sacks, 318 tackles, and 45 passes defensed. Unfortunately, in a snowy game in Arrowhead in January of 2010, he will slip while attempting a 106 yard field goal, and the sheer torque from his leg will cause his psoas major, iliacus, and hamstring to tear, propelling his foot through his helmet and into his sinus cavity, killing him instantly. He will be enshrined in the HOF for the class of 1971, as he was so good that the rumor of his existence caused voters to invent a vehicle capable of FTL travel, enabling them to go back and redo the entire HOF in an Aaron Curry motif. A de-fleshed human skull from a player of each team he faced will line the entrance on both sides. |
I'm going to keep updating this.
Stafford-Franchise QB, constant playoff-appearances if he has good pieces around him. Monroe-15 years in the league. Starts LT from day one. Good pass protector, and he has displayed flashes of good run-blocking. Curry-Derrick Brooks/typical Ravens PB LB depending on scheme Crabtree-long solid career, never Fitz/Andre Johnson game-breaking ability I think Jenkins gets picked up by a zone team and makes a good corner Andre Smith ends up being a RT or G and does not justify his draft position if he goes top 20 Everette B is a near-lock for DROY if he goes to a 3-4 team. Orakpo ends up at LE for a 4-3 team. Takes a bit to develop, and never breaks 7 sacks in a season in that scheme. Maclin looks like Ted Ginn. A good #2 speed option. Sanchez and Jason Smith I haven't seen enough of to form an opinion. Ya, Raji is a good player. I think Oher is the biggest boom or bust player in the draft. Maualuga may take some time to develop but should eventually be a monster. Beanie can have a great career if he stays healthy. Vontae Davis-bust. Cushing-reminds me of a good Ohio State LB the Packers took, I see a long career and a couple PBs Larry English's best position is probably RE in a 4-3 once he fills out. Moreno is good, but I think Shonn Greene has the longer more productive career. Clay jr. should be really good. Connor B is the next JA Alex Mack is the next great center--many PBs in his future Robert Ayers is the next Tamba Hali/Turk end not quick enough to be an impact player. |
Oh. I forgot to mention that there's a poll involved. It's up and running now.
|
Missed the 9 rule, lol. That'd have made my post take about 5x as long to type.
|
The only reason I dont think Curry will make more than 1 or 2 Pro Bowls is bc Pro Bowls are mainly decided on sacks.

Every post but this one has broken rule #9.

I'd usually read the rules because they're funny, but rushed to respond to this great question.

There are really only 3 people out of 16 that think any of these players are going to be busts? This must be some kind of legendary draft class.
|
Long career doesn't really mean a great one. And Orakpo being a LE isn't good value for his position. Is Crabtree good value at the 4 if he has that career? Maclin? I'm not tackling Sanchez either. I'll go ahead and say Raji gets taken before he should and doesn't quite live up to the pick.
ya realized you were talking about the poll. I kinda picked a lot of players to have good careers too. |
How about these guys:
Brian Cushing = bobby carpenter jr. Clay Matthews = bobby carpenter III They won't sit the bench but you won't notice them much on the field either. Peira Jerry = Justin Harrell/Alan Branch/Glenn Dorsey/ other overhyped DTs. Ziggy Hood = See Peira Jerry and emphasize the other overhyped DTs part. B.J. Raji = Maybe in 4 years he'll be something. Maclin = closer to Yamon Figurs than any superstar |
