AFC West is ****ing bizarre this draft.
The Chiefs have made a move none of us foresaw and have just gone with 3-4 DEs.
Now it's my opinion that we took THE TWO BEST 3-4 DEs in this Draft. Period. But that's a weird move. Oakland did the predictable thing and picked up a track star with no hands with the overall #7. Then, like everybody else who drafted a safety on the first day (with the possible exception of Atlanta), they reached for one in round 2. The Broncos... well I have no ****ing clue what they're trying to do. They get two first round picks for Cutler, trade one of them away for a corner in the 2nd round (when they draft one later anyway... Al Smith better be a 10-year Pro Bowler), and the other one they use to pick up Ayers, who doesn't fit in a 3-4 at ALL. But that's okay, because with their other first they drafted... Moreno!?!?!?!? The Chargers made a more understandable pick, but English is still risky without high reward. |
By the way, other than Stafford, the Lions fail at drafting.
Seriously. Hard. |
It's been a strange draft for sure.

Is Duke Robinson going to fall into our lap? I would just move Waters to Center if that happened.

Mike Mayock had Robert Ayers as the 3rd best prospect in the entire draft, and said he was going to be the best defensive player from this draft 3 years from now.
Mayock had Knowshon Moreno as the 4th best prospect in the entire draft, and had him as the number 1 RB in the draft. Mayock said that if Alphonso Smith was 2 inches taller he would be a top 10 draft pick. Most likely Chicago will be in the playoffs and Smith had a first round grade. Not that bad of a trade when you think about it. |
KC and SD have been arright.
Denver got a few solid players but gave away far, far too much. Oakland is Oakland. |
