NFL Sunday Ticket usage
Spinoff of another thread of course. Just curious to know the Planet's usage of Sunday Ticket. Poll on the way.

I'd get it if Time Warner would carry it. But not willing to switch to Direct TV just to get the NFL Network.

Since I can't get Chiefs games in HD in Topeka, I have no choice but DirecTV with Sunday ticket. And of couse to get the games in HD you have to have Superfan or no HD.
So ummm yeah. |

I wish DirectTV would create individual team packages. I'd gladly pay $150 just to get the Chiefs games in HD. |

I get the Sunday Ticket without superfan. Im not gonna drop an extra 100 dollars or whatever it is just too get it in HD.

I've been a Sunday Ticket subscriber since 96' but probably won't renew it this year. It's BS that you have to pay an extra $100 to get the games in HD when the broadcasters are doing all the games in HD anyway, and SD broadcasting as we know it ceases to exist in June. It's BS to have to pay $100 for the Superfan to not have the games down-rezed.

Before we bought our home in 2003, I had to go to sports bars to watch the Chiefs games. I spent at least $30 for each game (breakfast or lunch, a few beers or ice tea). Over the course of 16 games, that's nearly $500 per season for 11 seasons. The worst part was having to watch the Chiefs on the smallest TV's in the joint (and this was before HD) and you had to get there early (like 9am at the latest) to get a seat. I'll take rolling out of bed at 9:55am on Sunday morning and flipping on the HDTV in the family room (while simultaneously recording it in 3 other rooms) any day of the week over going to a bar. |
Have been able to "negotiate" the SuperFan for free the past couple of years......plan on trying that tactic again this fall. In total agreement that paying extra for HD is a complete scam....but can't imagine paying $300 to watch football in SD. DTV has got the market cornered.....if you live outside KC and want to watch Chiefs football that is.

If anyone other than DirecTv offered it, I'd pay for it in a heartbeat.
|
If I didn't live in my home teams broadcasting area I would in a heartbeat.
|
My apartment complex won't let me put a dish up on my deck or I'd have it.
But it's not that big of a deal since I get local coverage. It's just that DirectTV >>>>>>>>>>>St. Joe Cablevision. |

I kid you not here. If you live in Topeka, put up some sort of over air antenna that will pick up WIBW. HD over the open air signal is far better than HD over the satellite service. If your TV has the TV capibilities built in, you don't need the converter box either. The TV will do it for you. Just run a scan for digital channels on the TV settings guide. Where I live, I can get CBS out of Lincoln, NE., and FOX out of Salina/Wichita over open air. And let me tell you, it flat rocks compared to satellite HD. |
