Dear Zachary: A letter to a son about his father

This documentary started as a letter to boy by a man who was best friends with his murdered father. The documentary started as a way for this film maker to document the custody struggles, how his fathers friends thought of him, what his grand parents went through and the court system in Canada.

This critic may have said it best.

Quote:

"One of the best documentaries I have ever seen in my entire life... a film that will rock you to your core. You will cry. You will hurt – and this film will sit with you for days, weeks, months. But you will come away believing in people. Believing that even where there is evil, there is also a tremendous amount of good." - Erik Davis, Cinematical.com
I find myself today, thinking of nothing else. My throat is sore from the constant welling of emotion.

Ok, you talked me into it. I just added this movie to my Netflix queue.

I was pumped to see this long ago when it aired on MSNBC, but had to DVR it. Alas, it sat on the DVR for a long while. Still haven't sat down to watch it.

I read about this a while back, but I can't decide if I want to watch it because from what I've read it's so draining emotionally. Like, I want to watch it but I don't.

This is on Netflix streaming. Watching it now. It's pretty good

update: finished it, I enjoyed it and recommend it.

So, it started out as a documentary on one thing, and then the father got murdered?

No...it started out as a documentary about the father that got murdered and then once the director found out that the murderer had his son....it became a documentary for the son to get to know his father.

I heard people were crying at the end of Land of the Lost when they realized they spent money to see it.
