The New Jersey Nets have agreed in principal to send Vince Carter(notes) and Ryan Anderson to the Orlando Magic for Rafer Alston(notes), Tony Battie(notes) and Courtney Lee(notes), two league executives told Yahoo! Sports.

Next year is going to be somthing else.

bad trade for the magic IMO

according to NBAFanhouse.com the Magic were also looking at trading for Tracy McGrady if they couldn't deal for Carter.

Remember when the Magic started the season like 0-18 w/ McGrady? At least he was on the team...not sure if he was playing or injured. DAT WAS FUNNY SEASON

Should be crazy

I'm not happy about giving up Ryan Anderson, but it's not a terrible deal. It all depends on what happens after next season. We have the cap room to offer 2 max contracts, but who knows if we can actually get one of those big free agents.

Great deal for Orlando as long as they can find a way to shore up their bench.

I'm hesitant to stamp my approval on this.

Well this move should make New Jersey better, but unless they get a big free agent or an outstanding pick....looks like they may have just dumped Vince.

Losing Courtney will hurt. Giving him up was a dumb move IMO. He played some solid D in the playoffs.
