Open on Friday.

i just had a coworker tell me that he thought since July the 4th was on a weekend, that noone got the holiday.

There are some places that still do that...my wife's job is one of 'em.

shoot, i wouldn't mind working on friday, but i have a feeling that my boss doesn't want to pay me much considering all the businesses that we support won't be open.

Well the Holiday is listed as a Paid Day off for us in the Handbook.

However they aren't giving us any days off...even though 90% of our customers, and 100% of our Vendors are closed

Since it falls on a Saturday, am I just out of luck or what? Or should I be getting a day off, or be getting paid for Saturday since it says its a Paid day off?

I work for County Government......so yeah....I get Friday off.

So, if it says in the company handbook that Independence Day is a paid day off, should I get paid for Saturday or what?
