St. Joe Mayor to President Denny Thum...
 

Ok, so we're at the Groundbreaking today for the Chiefs camp on MWSU's campus. Most probably don't know the history behind St. Joe's illustrious mayor, but he's made quite the reputation of himself for not holidng back and saying whatever is on his mind.

So we're going through all the riga-marol (sp?) with Sen. Shields, Lt. Gov Kinder, MWSU Pres. Vartabedian, etc etc etc.

So they introduce our Mayor, and as he's thanking Denny Thum for his commitment to St. Joseph, he made the comment (and this can't be verbatim, I'm trying to post it as accurately as I remember)...


"I must say how nice it is to have a President so neighborly as oppossed to someone that considers themself a king."

I was trying to follow Mr. Thum's reaction, and he tried to be gracious without obviously acknowledging what the mayor was referring to. I just figured some of you might get a kick out of that. :D
