Cassel to start Week 1?
According to Schefter
• More and more, it sounds as if Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel should be ready for Kansas City's regular-season opener. Cassel does have the strained medial collateral ligament, but when the lights go on, the organization believes he will be there. And you know who else will be there? Tyler Thigpen. Despite speculation the Chiefs could be dealing Thigpen, they will not. Nor does it seem like they ever were willing to do so. Thigpen will be on the Chiefs opening day roster. http://insider.espn.go.com/espn/blog...=schefter_adam |
I don't know what everyone here thinks about Schefter, but I trust him. Between him and Glazier, they're really the only two "insiders" I trust for NFL behind the scenes access.
That said, let's hope Cassel is ready to roll.....it'd be such a damn waste to not have him play 16 games this season..... |

Can we line up in the shot gun with the Qb 10 yards back? Might be Cassel's only chance.

IIRC he got sacked just shy of 50 times last season. Durability shouldn't be an issue with him. I'm just curious to find out, as we all are, if he can actually play with sub-par talent or was he a product of the system. Regardless, this is good news if it's true.

I remember when Schefter said Pioli would not be KC's GM.

Just sit out week 1 Mark......there's no need to get killed by the Ravens. That's Thigpen's job.

Matt maybe able to start week one. Then he will be on the road, with a soar knee, standing behind the Chiefs O-line facing the Ravens D. Yes he may start week one but I doubt he will start week two.
