This sucks.

Make no mistake, I'm happy that the Chiefs beat the Rams.

BUT, I think we've lost Elvis for a while. If you saw the hit, then you know what I'm talking about. Hopefully it's just a bone bruise and he'll be back for next week, but it didn't look that way to me.

Also, Eric Hicks looks like he hurt his knee pretty bad. If we lose our best DL for a while, then we're really gonna be in trouble.

Sorry to rain on the parade, but I was getting all excited about the rest of the season and then to see that happen . . . . . man.

Hopefully neither are serious and I'm just prematurely reacting, but I'm a little worried at the moment.

However, on a positive note, SlyMo and Tony G. are okay after also going out at different points in the game.

PLEASE ELVIS & ERIC . . . . be okay!!!!

Warren Moon might get the start in his old college stadium, that would be interesting....Joe

DIEHARDCHIEF 10-22-2000 02:43 PM

CASHMAN: This really scares me because IF Elvis is out for a while, I don't think Old Man Moon can lead us anywhere. Oh, sure, he might have a few moments where he looks okay, but he'll also look like the 40 year old QB that he is a lot of the time. Elvis has SLOWLY developed into one of the better QB's in the NFL and this offense will definitely miss a HUGE beat without him!!

Here's to hoping Elvis is okay!!!!!!

P.S. Yeah, I'm smiling over that Bungles over Donkeys win too. http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/smile.gif

I think Grbac will be ok; he may miss a week. I'll keep my fingers cross. Hicks' knee looked really bad. Williams just threw Faulk into Hicks. Lets hope he's ok.

We can't afford for him to miss games, he has taken over as leader on the O and must continue to play or else he might lose it.

Mike 10-22-2000 02:52 PM

I'm scared about both these injuries (Hicks and Grbac). Hopefully Hicks' is just a strain (a one or two week thing) and not a serious injury. We have good depth at the position, at least. They originally said they thought Grbac had a shoulder contusion. Could someone please explain this injury and its seriousness?

DaKCMan AP 10-22-2000 02:53 PM

Gman - I heard them say elbow, not shoulder.

AustinChief 10-22-2000 02:53 PM

Listening to the Gunther Post-game interview, he said he'd gotten positive reports on Hicks, Grback and Morris.

May not be as bad as we're all thinking.

Both Hicks' and Grbac's injuries looked like they could potentailly be season-enders. While Bob Dole was hooting and hollering, Bob Dole hopes neither is serious.

ddpatterson 10-22-2000 02:58 PM

I'm going to remain positive and predict Elvis is ready to start next week, and Hicks misses no more than 1 game.
This is my hope and my prayer

Gun just said neither looked too serious. However, we did get banged up on both sides of the ball. Elvis said, "I feel good but has a little soreness in his elbow. He'll get an MRI tomorrow." Sounded positive. Lets keep our fingers crossed. While many have been critical of him, I think it's obvious he's our leader! Get well soon!
