Preparing an offensive line by weight.
Hypothetical: The NFL makes a new rule.
There are six skill position players on offense, as always, but the offensive line is apportioned by weight. You can have as many linemen as you want, as long as their total weight does not exceed 1,550 pounds. The rules for defense don't change. How many linemen do you put on the field? (Poll to follow with basic math done for you.)
And now as long as we're all here sitting around the pot-bellied stove drinking coffee in the general store, let's go with another hypothetical. For symmetry purposes, let's go with the opposite. The NFL gives you 7 linebackers/defensive backs, but on the line you can have as many linemen as you want as long as the total defense doesn't exceed 1,120 pounds. The offense gets five linemen just like now. How many defensive linemen do you put on the field? (Poll to follow with more basic math done for you.)
Hang on. The poll will be up as soon as I do some basic math.
