Eric Berry to stay in college?

http://www.gbnreport.com/

(10:00 AM) Top safety staying???? … All season long Tennessee junior safety has been considered to be one of the top 2-3 prospects overall for the 2010 draft. However, there are some signs that Berry may ultimately decide to return to school for his senior year next fall. Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin, for example, is being quoted as saying Berry has a surprise for fans on Saturday when the Vols face Kentucky in their final regular season game. At the same time, Berry did not participate in the team’s traditional last tackle drill on Thursday morning in which each senior tackles a blocking pad dressed in Kentucky gear.

You'd think these top guys would learn from Bradford.

Kyle DeLexus 11-27-2009 07:58 PM

That would suck.

Quesadilla Joe 11-27-2009 08:01 PM

You guys can always get him next year.

Rain Man 11-27-2009 08:02 PM

Okay, I'm going to need to take all firearms and rope from the Mayberry people. Now.

i would be surprised ... a high collision position like safety.

you go as soon as you projected a solid 1st round pick.

Safeties were not sniffing any of that top 10 pick money for a while. The pass happy nfl has made it a more important position so in the future they will start going high.
Like you said a 1st round pick shit he could be a top 5 pick. You don't walk away from that cake.

Running back,Safety,Linebacker ... you go as soon as you can with a limit shelf life.

Offensive lineman,Quarterbacks,Wide receivers need more development and last longer so staying isn't necessarily a bad thing.

If you are projected top 5, you pretty much go no matter what.

The Bad Guy 11-27-2009 08:15 PM

Lane Kiffin should force him to leave. This NEVER works out for seniors if they are projected to be top 5 picks their junior year. There's too much that can happen.

TheGuardian 11-27-2009 08:17 PM

Good. We can take Mays this year and Berry next year. :)

Too true.

You people are insane. He needs to finish his communications or physical education degree so he's got something to fall back on if the football thing doesn't work out.
