Dunlap Arrested For DWI

I'm thinking a stiff 1 series suspension will be in order.

Florida Gators starting defensive end Carlos Dunlap was arrested for DUI early Tuesday morning in Gainesville, according to Gainesville police department spokesman Lt. Keith Kameg.

Dunlap, a junior from North Charleston, S.C., was arrested at 3:25 a.m. near campus and was booked into the jail at 5:52 a.m., according to police. Kameg said officers responded to a reckless driving complaint and found Dunlap's 2000 Chrysler stopped at a traffic light near the 200 block of W. 34th Street.

Kameg said officers found Dunlap's car stopped at a green light.

"They approached the car and found the suspect slumped over in the driver's seat," Kameg said. "He appeared to be asleep. The car's windows were cracked so they attempted to wake him up. They talked to him and he would only open his eyes for a few seconds and then fall back asleep."

Kameg said officers were able to unlock the car and turn off the ignition. Kameg said officers reported that Dunlap "had trouble listening to instructions." He was given a field sobriety test and performed "poorly," according to Kameg. He refused to take a Breathalyzer at the scene, Kameg said.

Dunlap, who is considered a potential first-round draft choice if he leaves Florida after this season, has 35 tackles, including 8½ tackles for loss, and is tied for the team lead with seven sacks. He was named MVP of the 2009 FedEx BCS National Championship Game, in which the Gators defeated Oklahoma 24-14 to win their second BCS title in three seasons.

Dunlap was arrested five days before the No. 1 Gators will play No. 2 Alabama in the SEC championship game in Atlanta's Georgia Dome.

Florida athletics department spokesman Steve McClain didn't immediately return a call to his cell phone Tuesday morning.

LOL, I'm sure Urban will bring down the heat on Dunlap and suspend him from one day of practice before the SEC Championship.

Suicide watch for DaKCMan AP, can't wait to see this spin. :D

DUI's are not awesome.

LMAO

That's ridiculous. He should be suspended for at least one quarter of a football game.

Urban said the kid suffers from sleep apnea and the police should be ashamed of themselves for waking him up and scaring him.

I full expect this kid to be put in a corner for 10 minutes to recite the gator fight song 5 times

Brother Dunlap,

God the Father of mercies, through the death and resurrection of Myself, has reconciled the world to himself and sent the Holy Spirit among us for the forgiveness of sins; through the ministry of the Church may My Dad give you pardon and peace, and I absolve you from your sins in the name of the Father, and of Myself, and of the Holy Spirit.

This is disappointing.

A 30 minute counseling session w/ Tebow should do the trick. I think Spikes only needed to rest an injury and talk to Tebow for 15 minutes.

BTW, Spikes was able to reclaim his virginity.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out in the days leading up to the SEC title game. Couldn't Dunlap have just went out and got hammered the night after Spikes was poking his fingers in/at other players eyes? They could have kept each other company for the first half of that game(sorry, the whole game, which was a much more appropriate punishment).

Dunlap's season just keeps getting shitter. He has went from potential #1 pick to this. He needs to stay in school now IMO. He doesn't fit our needs so it really doesn't effect us too much.

Sportscenter reporting that Dunlap has been suspended for the SEC Championship against Alabama.

The very threat of a counseling session with Tebow would be enough to make me fly right my entire tenure as a player and student.
