Hotel stays FROM HELL!
I just had one of the worst hotel stays of my life. I stay at Holiday Inns and Holiday Inn Express hotels for the most part, 95% Holiday Inn express. I checked in last night and go up to the room, I noticed right away that the carpet was super dirty. Oh well, I can live with that, I'm not sleeping on the floor. I go into the bathroom, lift the lid on the head and there is a giant poo in there. WTF? Did the maid have to drop a load?
Fast forward to two 2:25 am. I bunch of dickweeds are running up and down the hall yelling and banging on doors. I tried to ignore it, threw a pillow over my head but could get back to sleep. It just kept going on with a party in a room across the hall. (Have Glock 20 with hollow points and 15 round clips, but the law would be upset if I shoot them for this :grr: ) I got up, throw on my pants and go knock on the door. Some punk answers and says "yeah man?" I said, you guys do know its 3:00 in the ****ing morning don't you? Perhaps it's time to stfu and go night night, there are people up here that aren't owls.<O:p <O:p I go back to bed, but am two pissed off and adrenaline up to sleep. About 30 minutes later it starts again. I call the front desk and tell them what's going on and it some chick along and she says, "there is nothing I can do about it." On go the pants, BANG BANG BANG, door opens, same punk. "I asked nicely once, now I'm telling you ****ers for the last time to hold down the noise!" Punk shuts door and all is quiet. <O:p<O:p Fast forward to 6:00 am when my alarm goes off. (slept for about an hour) I'm still pissed off and notice when I go to leave hat they had the balls to put a do not disturb on their door. :spock: Wrong answer! Back in my room I go. I dial up their room, no answer. I dial it again, no answer. On the 3rd try, they answer and I said "RISE AND SHINE!" *Click* BANG BANG BANG on their door. A different punk answers. I stuck my head in the door and said "RISE AND SHINE, breakfast is on boys and girls!" I figured, if they had the nuts to party until 3:30 and keep the whole 3rd floor up, they could get up with the rest of us. <O:pI have another Hotel from hell story, but I need to hit the road and make calls in a different town right now.<O:p <O:p What are your hotel stays from hell stories?<O:p <O:p |
Stayed at a nice hotel in Denver earlier this year.
Slept fine, no complaints about service either. But, it was in Denver so it pretty much sucked. **** Denver. |
We stayed at a Hyatt one time and it seemed that the entire floor (other than OUR room) was staying there for a wedding/reception that was going on at the Hotel. Our experience was similar to yours with the loud/drunk/obnoxious people in and out and up and down the hallways all night long. At about 2am we called down and pretty much demanded that we be moved to a different part of the hotel and they allowed it. We also ended up getting a 50% discount when we checked out. What's funny about it is that up to that point in our lives this particular Hyatt was by far the nicest/fanciest hotel we had ever visited but it was also our worst experience.
The only other "hellish" experience was at this 2 star hotel in KC. My entire family was asleep and sometime in the middle of the night I hear a lot of commotion out in the hallway. I look through the peephole and see people but couldn't see very well so I quietly opened the door for a better look....there was a cop with his gun drawn leaning up against our door and when I opened it he almost fell backwards into our room! About that time I hear " SIR, please go BACK into your room for your own safety!!" No problem. Didn't get much sleep THAT night....wife and kids slept through it all. |
made reservations 3 months in advance at a place in downtown st. louis. going to a concert at the old barn, and this hotel was just about half a mile away.
got to the hotel and checked in. we went to the room and it was so small, it had to be a storage room for the rest of the place. went back out to the desk and they explained they were booked and it was the only available room. i thought, wth...we're just sleeping there. after the concert, we got back to the room and i went back out to the car to get a cooler, or something. got to visiting w/others staying at the hotel that had gone to the concert. i asked them how far in advance had they booked their rooms, and they told me they'd just come in that afternoon and got them. pissed me off big time. then i get back to the room and we get ready for bed. i pull back the sheets, and it looks like someone gutted a friggin hog. blood stains all over the bed sheet. wife said no way was she staying in that place, so we left and drove 5 hours home. sec |

Got mugged at a Best Western in south KCK. It's right across the way from the University of Kansas Med Center, so that was nice. Went out to get my and the wife some Taco Bell, and when I got back, I had an armload of food and before I knew it, some ****stick grabs me from behind and tosses me to the ground. I open my eyes and am greeted to the sight of 2 guys grabbing my legs and a third covering my eyes and telling me to give up my shit.
The hotel was really sorry. They didn't offer a discount or anything, even though they had a security guard there because there had been many incidents in the past. Whatever. |

I stayed at a Comfort Inn last year that was interesting.
The room was a suite and I knew when I walked in it wasn't going to be good. The blue love seat looked like someone had thrown spoons of doughnut glaze at it and was stained with cig burns(non smoking room)....I always pull back the Sperm-Berm(comforter) and don't use it....A work boot print on the pillow and popcorn in the bed. I walk into the bathroom and it looks like someone shaved a buffalo in the sink and there was piss in the toilet. I guess you could say I threw a fit before moving up the block to another place. I did get a call from the manager and was offered a free night....yeah, keep that. |
When I came down for Joe's party a few years ago I stayed at either Econo Lodge or Comfort Inn (I can't remember which one) in St. Joseph. It's a national chain, and I'd stayed in them before without incident or complaint. I guess I should have been clued in by the bulletproof glass window in the lobby, but I was tired from driving. When I drove down the hill to building my room was in, it looked like something out of a horror movie - no external lights, old shitty cars, everything run down. I had to shine the headlights on the door so my wife could see to put the key in the door, and I had the gun in my hand the entire time. The room was as nasty as the outside - 70's nightmare carpet which looked like it had last been cleaned in the 70s. There was even carpeting on the inside of the door, which made no sense. Towels were threadbare, everythink was just.... ick. When I told Joe where I was staying he said I'd picked the shittiest motel in town. Nothing happened, but God that was awful.
The ****ed up part is if I'd taken the next exit, all the good motels were right there. :banghead: |
Hotel in Ocean City, MD
The wife finds a black bra behind the headboard...relax this thing could have fit around a grizzly bear. Toenails IN THE EFFING bed!!1!One! Shower looked like the swamps of Mordor and the sink didn't work. $220.00 View you ask? A brick building 3 feet away. |
Me and my dad were fishing up in Minnesota. I think it was a Super 8 Motel or something. anyways, my dad goes to get in bed without thinking twice to look at the sheets, just hops in, only to lay down in a wet bed.....someone pissed in it from the night before and the cleaning crew just ignored it and pulled the covers over it I guess.....like the next person in that room wouldn't notice. I laughed my ass off even though it was really gross. My dad has a temper sometimes and he was NOT pleased....he stormed down to the desk and told them what happened. We got a new room, clean and all. And got 2 nights free on the Hotel.

My latest was after the Chiefs @ Ravens Game.
Three of us managed to get some pretty good tickets for the Ravens Game back in September. Despite losing the game was great and we were having a blast. Three guys with nothing to do all day but eat, drink, be merry and watch football who didn't' have to worry about driving because our motel was in walking distance or a $5 taxi cab ride away. There's tons of bars in the area so we're not running out of things to do anytime soon. Anyway 2am rolls around and we head back to the motel to call it a night. On the way to the room my buddy Mark decides it would be a good idea to smack the hotel receptionist in the ass. He didn't mean anything by it, he was just shit faced and that's the way he is; a moron. Motel receptionist goes off, screaming, yelling and we grab Mark, drag him into the elevator and think it's over. Well about 20 minutes later two of Baltimore's finest boys in blue knock on the door and tell us we have to vacate the property. After a futile attempt of trying to talk our way out of the situation we're on the streets in the middle of Baltimore at 3am. Bags in hand with no where to go and too drunk to drive anywhere. It was a $350 a night motel room that was on my card to top it off. We eventually found another hotel without being raped, robbed or beaten. The next day we went golfing and the same guy is shit faced by 11am again driving the golf cart with me as the passenger. He wound up taking a turn too fast, wrecked the golf cart, broke his arm and my eye was the size of a softball from hitting who knows what during the crash. Never again |
I've stayed in dirty hotels, and while it's not acceptable, it's always been "you get what you pay for"...
The worst experience for what I paid for was the Holiday Inn Express in Kalamazoo, MI. I was driving to Omaha from Detroit, and had just gone to the Michigan/Utah game. My original plan was to drive all the way home, but got a bad headache, so decided I just wanted food, tv, and sleep; and zero effort for any of it. So, the Holiday Inn Express was $130 for the night, but had it's own restaurant, so whatever.... Mizzou/Illinois was on tv, and it wasn't even close. Ordered room service, and after waiting almost an hour after their stated 20-30 minutes, it all sucked. It was probably the worst hotel meal I've ever eaten. So, bedtime... my room overlooked a swimming pool/play area that was apparently open all f***ing night, so I ended up getting maybe an hour of sleep, and got up at 4am to head home. To top it off, the guy at the counter didn't give a shit, at all... not even a fake "was everything okay?" $180 for everything, and the best part was watching a f***ing Mizzou football game. :doh!: That stay actually made me a bigger fan of places like Hampton, which run about $80/night. I never understood why people spend over $100/night for a hotel, unless you have a ton of reward points and get extra perks (or your company is paying for it). I have no problems with a cheap motel, granted there are clean towels and clean bedding, and I should have gone that route on that particular night. :shake: |
I met my buddy in San Fransisco (yeah yeah....I know); he was stationed in Pensacola and I in California in the Navy (yeah ....I know....again).
we staid at this motel-ish type place about 20 miles outside SF. when we arrive, they're replacing the matress....ok no big deal. We can't check in for another 30 minutes. Fine. then we come back, and they tell us they can't check us in for another hour or so. Fine. Come to find out they were spraying for bugs or something. Which apparently they didn't do a good job of since there were roaches in the tub. As we go to check in, we're waiting outside the room ont eh 2nd floor, and this dude is walking around on the roof of th first floor next to us. there's all this stuff scattered around the roof. "WTF is this guy doing" I ask. My buddy notices what he's doing.. he's flipping the tortillas. swear to god. |
