Did they plow your street? Lose power?
Just wondering.
|
Two guys with 4x4's and snow-plow rigs got stuck trying to clear the road at my dad's.
No power loss. Yet. |
no and no thankfully. But I did have a basement full of water wednesday night thanks to the melt.
|
no and no....
Just 4 hours until my wife gets home, we cant wait to see her! |
Lights flickered a couple times, but no outage yet. Plows are still too busy trying to keep the main roads clear to hit the residential areas yet.
|
I have no idea if my street has been plowed or not, and I haven't ever lost power in the winter time, which is odd seeing that we seem to lose it every single friggin' time there's a thunderstorm.

There's a huge city truck with a plow stuck on my street. It's full of sand and they can't get it free (it slid into a shallow culvert). They brought in another truck/plow to pull it out and all it did was burn about 1/8" rubber from the rear tires. This wouldn't be so funny except my city only does "one-way plowing" now on residential streets due to cutbacks. (I live on a dead-end street.) He'd have been better off actually TURNING AROUND at the end of the street where there's plenty of room. But nope! They're told to save money. Dead-end? Back up and save money.... into a ****ing culvert.

City came through and plowed a bit around 4 am this morning and has yet to be back. Luckily, no outage or even a flicker.
|
My parents live on the Missouri side, outside of city limits, and their neighborhood was plowed early this morning.
I live in KCK and they didn't touch the neighborhood here, and the busier streets are questionable. :doh!: |

The Hy-Vee in my hometown lost power. That was an enjoyable 5 hours of my Christmas throwing melted ice cream and shit away.
|
Thank God no...of course it was 74 degrees in sunny Fort Myers, Florida today. Almost put on my windbreaker this morning when I felt that early morning 60 degree breeze...sorry guys, probably not a good time for warm weather humor! I've been down here since 95 but I still remember that bone aching cold weather.
|
Yes they did a couple of times, but no loss of power yet. Would have happen last night if it was going to happen.
|
They always plow our street when we get more than 4" or so. And no, our power didn't go out. I think that's pretty rare here since we don't really get ice storms and our snow is typically pretty dry.
