Okay, total bullshit thread, but... with Taylor Mays falling on most draft boards

...what are the odds we could use our nice stock of mid-round picks to move up into the late first round to grab him AND draft Eric Berry?

Would you be satisfied with using both of our top picks on both Berry and Mays?

im sure someone will be along shortly to tell you that you are reeruned, but id be all for it. im sure one of them could play FS and we would have a sweet ass secondary. and i bet theyd play football pretty good too ;)

Mays will be a top 10 pick on almost all draft boards after the combine

They are both FS's, but I'm sure one could play SS.

No chance this happens. Mays will go pretty high regardless of what mocks are saying now.

Except for NFL teams.

Have you seen Mays play? Just because he's big doesn't mean he is a strong safety. He's a deep coverage safety that doesn't tackle well or play well in the box.

I accidentally hijacked this thread with the same topic.

That's the problem. In college he wasn't asked to play in the box, run with receivers next to him, and proper tackling is a big concern. His playing experience doesn't fit the SS mold. Similarly, although he's got fantastic speed and size, his ball skills are questionable which makes him a questionable FS as well.

He's going to go in the 1st round him falling will be like 20, and yes he's a FS, if you think he's a SS you have no idea what his game is which is why suggesting he's a LB is even more stupid.

And in the NFL he's not going to be playing 20 yards off the LOS every play where he can just use his athleticism in space.

I've been a Mays skeptic for years, ask Mecca. At this point he really is a pick based on the potential his size/athleticism gives him. But I think Mays is the type of player who if he develops right, could end up being a better pro player than he was a college player.

IMO If we can trade down a few spots to a team trying to get a qb prospect and still draft in the top 10 to get Berry or Mays that would be ideal. Hopefully get an extra 3rd or 4th.

Mays to me is a guy who's best football is ahead of him, all the natural talent is there. And no NFL team at least not very often will ask him to do what SC had him do.

But you do need to realize with some posters they don't like Mays because he's from SC and well they don't like me.
