Mike Cox – Denver Game

It may have been written in the official Denver game thread, but I did not see this mentioned anywhere else…

Mike Cox had a very good game against Denver. He piled in for the first KC TD. He made a very good catch that was above his head and then ran for a first down. But what really made it a good game for him as a fullback were his blocks. On several of the runs by Jamaal Charles, Mike Cox threw key blocks. On some he not only blocked one player but sometimes two.

I know the fullback does not get recognized, much like the offensive line, but he had probably the best game I have ever seen him play. His play helped Jamaal Charles run for 259 yards and a Chiefs victory.

If any of you still have the Chiefs Broncos game recorded, go back a take a look and see how he contributed to the game for the Chiefs.

I noticed that, too.

He had a few lead blocks that, although not TRich quality, certainly did the job. I also noticed that Albert was working hard in space, as well ... multiple blocks ... keeping the play alive ... etc.. Methinks that Charles' contribution is motivating the other guys to elevate their effort.

The Monday night before the denver game Cox was at the peanut passed out on the bar. A friend of mine was there with some of his buddys and saw him. They said he was a mess and every few minutes he would act like he was going to throw up right there at the bar. My friend and his buddys started to wad up wet napkins and threw them at him for about half an hour. After a while of seeing this the bar tender asked Cox to go home.

I wonder if this is a normal pre-game activity for Mr. Cox.

I once knew a guy who played linebacker in college. He used to drop acid before every game.

Heck of a player.

You guys are misspelling cox. It should be 'I love C**KS'.

I'd still rather have Tony Richardson as a lead blocker. He was awesome in the Jets game vs. Cincy.

Cox definitely improved over the season and i also thought Castillo brought something to the table.

I wouldn't be upset if we didn't make any changes at FB next year although i still want a Thunder type guy to go with the lightening of Charles.

I gave Cox a great moment in the Chiefs/Denver highlight film I'm working on.

You guys will giggle.
