College Transfer Question

OK so lets say you live in Iowa your whole life. You go to college for a few years, but decide you want to go back to school in Iowa again. If you move back to Iowa after being a Cali resident for two years, would you have to pay out of state tuition?

Do you pay in school tuition now?

looks like you will be okay.

Its for my friend, his parents still live in Iowa. He paid out of state tuition his first year, but his second year he paid in state tuition.

Tell him to get a full-ride scholarship. Then he doesn't have to worry about it.

I think at Emporia State University in Kansas you have to live in state for 6 months or something like that. You will need to call the registrar's office.

If your friend isn't bright enough to figure this out on his own, tell him not to waste his money on a degree.

Did he establish his residency in CA, or still use his parent's address in Iowa as his "official" residence while living in CA?

If he paid instate tuition his second year...then his friend more than likely became a resident of CA. I'm assuming he'll have to pay out of state tuition for his first year in Iowa.

I don't know shit about this subject though....so take it FWIW.

My niece got in-state tuition at MU even though her family hadn't lived there for eight years. I guess the previous years living in MO counted for something.

That's how I'm reading it. The fact his parents still live in Iowa is just icing on the cake.
