Malware alert

Anyone? Mods? I keep getting malware alerts when I click on threads. It states the problem is 'elements from www.magicalkingdoms.com'

Info?

Dartgod 03-24-2010 07:53 AM

My advice? Don't click on threads.

According to Kaspersky, the virus is attributed to a hacker group known as the "Lenoites". It appears to only affect users with string dance avatars.

If you google just "magicalkingdoms" the websites result has the link 'This site may harm your computer'.

So Google knows about the site. My guess is that your software does too.

Is there a post in that thread with a link to that page somewhere? That's some pretty good malware software, if so.

I have in the past once or twice a month, usually thepiratebay, which is to be expected. But no rash of them recently.

Yeah, I may add I browse in Google Chrome and use AVG Internet Security.

jAZ 03-24-2010 08:06 AM

Google says that there is no "magicalkingdoms" anywhere indexed don CP (obviously they haven't gotten to indexing this thread yet).

That's what I use (both) too. Where is the lost thread? I'll try it too.

Oh great.... now everybody that opens this thread is infected. Thanks a lot!

Fish 03-24-2010 08:12 AM

It likely has nothing to do with that specific thread.

teedubya 03-24-2010 08:16 AM

I'm getting the exact same message. Something within CP is awry.

Baby Lee probably uses Chrome... IE and FF won't give this error. As they don't "view" it, whereas Chrome does. At least that is my understanding.
