baseball GM situation... what would you do?
I've been playing a baseball game on my computer for some time now. This is my situation.
I traded for Evan Longoria after his rookie season. He has been with my team for 18 seasons and is now 40 years old. Money isn't an issue. Stats (which decrease each year): 40 Years Old Nineteenth Season Ovr:86 Contact:87 Power: 92 Defense is still above average. He is at 721 totals home runs. The guy is a shoe in for the hall. Easily the best 3rd baseman in history. 3k hits, 2k runs, 2k RBI, .298 career avg. I also have a much younger 3rd baseman who belted 26 from the bench with no major injuries to Longoria. Would you go after the home run record ovr or avg be damned or would you trade away Longoria while he still has some ovr value in the game? I am undecided but leaning toward letting him play it out. |
If you're trying to be realistic you should just keep Longoria, no team would really ditch a guy who'd spent basically his entire career with 1 team that long and was going for a huge record.
Can the other guy play another position? |

Ah well it's baseball, the bench guy probably gets to play a lot since you either have DH or pinch hitting and no one plays every single game.

"I could be a General Manager of a baseball team. You know how I'm always coming up with trades?". "They usually give those jobs to people who have been in the business" "Well that isn't fair"
