Gawd D little black ants....Requesting the Planet's divine wisdom.

I bought a house this last fall and this is my first spring in it. Apparently it has started to be plagued with little black ants. I've tried the terro liquid baits and some basic home perimeter sprays, and they work for about a couple of days, but they still keep coming. Anyone here have any other ideas on how I can kill/get rid of the little ****ers?! :cuss:

Edit: I guess I should specify that I have young kids and a cat, not to mention Sofa King I'd like to still be able to live in my house.

The only surefire cure is to put rattlesnakes into your crawl space.

I tend to ignore them and they go away.

set up a picnic site in the neighbors lawn.

Don't use the terro liquid baits. They've proven to be ineffective in my experience.

Use the actual terro liquid. Put it on aluminum foil in several spots. If you get ants trapped in it or that die in it (which is what happens with the baits in my experience), then replace that piece of foil. I think the reason the traps fail is that ants eventually die in it or get trapped in it, and this dissuades the other ants from taking the liquid.

Plant a couple of Peony bushes at least 10 feet away from your house. Ants make the Peonies thrive. This may not eliminate the little buggers, but it should keep them away from the house.

Get bigger ants to take those smaller ants out of the equation.

i always set homemade traps and they work well

can of coke ... drink 3/4 of it and then set it down somewhere near where the ants are going. They are attracted by the sugar and eat until they drown.

safe for everyone

you will have a couple hundred ants in there after a couple of days. Just replace it will another can. :)

for extra powered results add more sugar into the coke can(diet or sugar free coke doesn't work)

This has worked well for us too.
