Draft Question

I'm looking at my online guide for Thursday and both ESPN and NFLN are showing the draft to be on for 3 1/2 hours. How are they going to complete the entire first round in 210 minutes?

I believe they're Tivoing it.

It's just a guess on the time. Like when they list a FB game from 12:00 to 3:00. The games always last about 3:15 minutes

They better show the whole first round. But 3 1/2 hours seems awful low to me. I don't see how they're going to finish it in less than 5-6 hours unless they've lowered the time limit between picks.

Tebow. Lots and lots of Tebow.

Chiefsplanet question: Isn't there a draft forum here?

:D

They've cut the first-round pick time from 15 minutes down to 10.

And I think they're assuming most clubs won't use the 10 minutes. If they did, the first round would take 320 minutes, which is almost 5-1/2 hours...

Of course they will show the whole thing. It'll be ok man. All 32 picks in the 1st. I figure it will last about 5 hours.

I think each team will use their maximum amount of time this year because of the talent available and teams will likely move around more than in the past as well, causing more time to be used.

They will most likely run over the time slot.

Going from 15 to 10 minutes is HUGE for teams. Having such a limited amount of people in the "circle of trust" it means you have less people working the phones and with less time, it really hinders teams ability to gauge true value in an open market.

It should make for a more interesting draft though, not as sluggish as in years past.

They should give the first 3 teams 3 minutes, the next 3 teams 6 minutes the next 3 teams 10 minutes and then go to 12 minutes for the rest.

Why? Teams need enough time to take calls to try to move around. 3 minutes would not be nearly enough even for the top 3 teams.

The first 3 teams have been taking calls for more than 3 weeks. 3 minutes is plenty of time.
