Report: Saints LT Brown on the trading block

NFL Network's Jason La Canfora reports that Saints LT Jammal Brown is on the trading block.
The catch is that Brown hasn't signed his restricted free agent tender, and must do so in order to be moved. He might also demand a multi-year extension from any team looking to acquire him. If Brown was dealt, the Saints could move forward with Jermon Bushrod and Zach Strief competing on Drew Brees' blind side. Free agent Flozell Adams is another option. Apr. 19 - 4:14 pm et

Uh they just played an entire season without him and won the bowl, pretty obvious they don't need him.

We don't need a LT, but he is a pretty good one.

He'll end up in Dallas

Or Washington, since they need some O-line help in a bad way.

Washington doesn't have the picks to land him after the McNabb deal.

Unless the Saints are giving him away.

I believe he played right tackle his first year with the Saints. I'd give for him what the Chiefs gave for Roaf and put him at RT.

Do they have next year's first?

Edit: They do.

Other than you know, he'll expect LT money.

Fortunately, we have Scrooge McDuck money sitting in the vault that's not being spent.

He was out all year with a hip injury, so maybe they're concerned about that. If we've got cap room and if he's healthy, it's like having an extra first round pick for presumably something less than a first-round cost.

If he's a restricted free agent, aren't Brown's options kind of slim? It's either sign it or sit out the year ??

Honestly, if I'm Washington, I think about offering the #4 to New Orleans for Brown and #32.

If I'm Washington, I get the best LT in this draft who I know is ready to go, and I can add another rusher at #32 or perhaps a guy like Weatherspoon if he slides a little bit (now that Philly might not take him).

New Orleans can just throw in Bushrod at LT and they could move #4 for multiple selections if someone gets a hard on for Clausen, Okung, Suh, Berry, or McCoy (whichever are available), or they could hope that McCoy ends up at #4 and put him next to Ellis, which would be ****ing amazing inside.

I hadn't even considered a trade down.

My only thought is NO not wanting to take on a Top 5 salary, assuming they get stuck with it.
