Former teammate says Bowe told him he never Aaron Wilson

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe has come up with a novel explanation for his controversial claims about players 'importing' women to the team hotel during his rookie season: He didn't say it.

Now, Bowe has apparently told former Chiefs wide receiver Eddie Kennison that he didn't make the comments attributed to him in ESPN the Magazine.

"I was surprised with the article because immediately when I heard it, I called Dwayne and we talked," Kennison told WHB Radio in Kansas City, per SportsRadioInterviews.com. "He said, 'Eddie K, I've never talked to this guy before. I don't know where this is coming from.' My question, I guess is to the writer who wrote the article. He quoted Dwayne in this article and to me that raises the question, if you quoted the guy, then that means the guy said it.

"So that leaves me a little bit skeptical about whether Dwayne really said it or not. Dwayne said he didn't. I believe Dwayne. I don't know the writer. I'm not saying that it's not true, but I believe Dwayne Bowe on it because he told me he did not say it."

The Chiefs have yet to say that Bowe didn't make the comments, which is probably what would have happened if there was an issue with the interview.

Kennison made a point out of saying he had nothing to do with anything that happens, if something happened.

"Let's get something straight in what the article said because the article said that there were girls imported and that there was one for every room," Kennison said. "Well, I can attest that there was no girl in my room in 2007 on the San Diego trip."

Here's what Bowe said in the article:

“My rookie year, we were playing in San Diego. You hear stories about groupies hanging out in hotel lobbies, but some of my teammates had it set up so there was a girl in every room. The older guys get on MySpace and Facebook a week before we go to a city; when a pretty one writes back, they arrange to fly her in three or four days in advance. They call it importing. Younger guys don’t have the money to do it. Anyway, these girls had the whole top floor. They know everything about us — first and last names, sisters and brothers, salary.

"This one girl was talking to me like she’d known me for years. ‘Hey, D-Bowe, how’s Grandma?’ I’m like, ‘How do you know my grandma?’ She knew that I talk about her every time I’m interviewed for a story. I told her I had a girlfriend, but she didn’t care. She was wearing my jersey, sitting in my lap, making it look like we knew each other. Then she took a picture and put it on Facebook. That almost got me in trouble.”

Really? Haven't been around much. Used the search function for "Eddie Kennison" & nothing came up. Life in the big city.

I saw this on here, I think it was...maybe 3 days ago? Not a big deal though...I might have read it on Arrowheadpride instead...Just thought I would let you know that is was fairly old news. Yet the latest on the Bowe saga.

Careful...now that DBowe has the endorsement of E.K., he might decide to "Put sumptin' on your ass" for that kind of comment. ;)

Yeah, Bowe's saga has been beat to death, but the EK angle was new to me. It posted on nationalfootballpost.com just a short time ago. Slow news day for the Chiefs Faithful.

Kennison is letting his heart do the decision making here. He wants to believe Bowe, so he does.

The more and more evidence that comes out, the closer we get to the conclusion that Bowe is a real ****ing dumbass and needs to grow up.

After last season he should have shut the hell up this offseason and concentrated on football. Instead he has created more distractions for himself.

And this is coming from someone with a huge man crush on Dwayne Bowe.

It's all very disheartening.

I'm not jilted in any way. But Bowe looks like a dishonest guy who has spun himself into a web of lies. Of course his head coach is a lying cad, too, so the precedent is set.
