Hoops Elite ,Ky( team 2H2 ) is our team and another team that is going is Hoops Elite South , which is from our same league that we play in Louisville,Ky.

Wish us luck next week guys & dolls . We're off To Cocoa Beach, Fl for the AAU 11 yr old Boys National Tourney. We are in pool 2H ........ Will be good to get away for a week and kick back, watch some talented kids and see how we stack up against them. We didn't enter Division 1 this year, this year we qualified and thought we would go Division II and go from there for next year. From what I here, Div. I is nothing short of All Star talent and a lot of cheating going on with ages of players.

Just got home, we finished 5th in the National Tournament. The sad part is the team that beat us won the National Championship. Plus the only team that beat them was us ,the team we beat for 5th place. We all know just one bad game can do you in.

Won our 1st 3 games, now we are in the Sweet 16!

Hey guys, won again. In the Elite Eight, have 2 games to play tomorrow . We win, we got to the Final Four 12st rounf tomorrow night. If we lose, we go to the consolation bracket and 5th is the best we can get.

On a side note, we saw Shaq's ( O'Niel's ) 10 year old son playing in the playing, the kid is hugh. 6'2", 220 lbs and just a 4th grader, going to the 5th grade. Just like Shaq, BIG, no talent at this level, but that will come. Not bragging, but my 5'10" grandson would run circles around him.

wait, what? lemme see if I can reconstruct this:

so, you got fifth place. you lost to the team that eventually won the tournament (aka, didn't lose)

the team that beat the national champs was the team you beat for fifth place? by what you already said, the national champs WEREN'T beaten (aka, didn't lose), so how was the team you beat for fifth place the team that beat the national champs?

this feels like one of those physics paradox thought experiments for string theory. in multiple universes multiple things occur and gravity is turned on its head due to infinitesimally small strings and gravitons.

Each team had to play within their pool for tournament seedings. Arron Brooks Select ( Seattle Wa. ) played the Raleigh Elite and lost, thus making the Elite a # 1 seed and the Brooks Select a 2 seed. Had Brooks not lost, they would have been seeded in the other half of the championship bracket. Since Brooks Select was a 2 seed, they got put into our bracket, they had to play the extra game to meet us in the Elite Eight, which we lost. (we played a very bad game, a lot had to do with the team we played , they just out played us the 2nd qtr, we lost by 22 points.)

So we lost to the Brooks Select team that won it all. But the Raleigh Elite lost in the Elite Eight as well, setting up a game both of us had to win before meeting each other. We both won and met for 5th, which we won by 20 points.

We had a good time, pool, beach, good & bad play from the boys,overall a good experience for them.

We just had 1 really bad game and it cost us a chance to compete for the title.

Sometime tomorrow, I'll post some pics of the team,players, team trophy, etc.
