ESPN: Rank Top NFL Running Backs

Jamaal Charles is ranked 14th out of 15 running backs. Only Knowshon Moreno is ranked lower. It is clear that a lot of people have not watched Charles play yet. Help him out!

Id rather he stay underrated.

It will hurt more for opposing defenses that way.

The last thing any running back, or boxer, ever needs to think is that they've gotten there.

I'm pretty sure opposing defenses know more about him than ESPN website visitors.

What Charles did in the second half of last season was exciting and gives one hope that we have a stud.

I was pretty happy with the pick when it was made and felt that he had the potential to be an outstanding RB in the NFL.

That being said, it was only a half season and until he shows that he can be that kind of player over time, that ranking isn't really out of line.

  1. 1.Adrian Peterson
  2. 2.Chris Johnson
  3. 3.Steven Jackson
  4. 4.Maurice Jones-Drew
  5. 5.Jamaal Charles
  6. 6.Frank Gore
  7. 7.DeAngelo Williams
  8. 8.Ray Rice
  9. 9.Michael Turner
  10. 10.Jonathan Stewart
  11. 11.Cedric Benson
  12. 12.Rashard Mendenhall
  13. 13.Ryan Grant
  14. 14.Ricky Williams
  15. 15.Knowshon Moreno

That's how I rated them, although, there's no way that I would have Williams, Moreno, or Grant in the top 15.<!--begin submit button-->

Charles has the talent to be at or near the top, but, based on sample size, I'd put him at #10 on your list.

Good points, but what he did with that an average (at best) offensive line was truly remarkable. He is clearly better than Knowshon Moreno, Ryan Grant, Cedric Benson, and Ricky Williams, at the very least.

Cedric Benson has had like, one good year since being utter shit in Chicago?

Reaper16 07-25-2010 05:07 PM

Where's Jerome Harrison at?

I think he's running into the end zone again while all the old slow guys on the Chiefs have a tea party.

You seriously think Cedric Benson is better than Jamaal Charles?

'Hamas' Jenkins 07-25-2010 05:19 PM

Here's the key, though:

The degree of separation on that list between 1 and 10 isn't all that demonstrable.

It's one of the many reasons why RBs are overvalued.
