The Kansas City Chiefs released 13 players over the weekend but announced on Sunday that eight of those players would be returning to the practice squad.

Here's the list of the Chiefs first practice squad:

• NT Garrett Brown
• DE Dion Gales
• RT Bobby Greenwood
• G Darryl Harris
• QB Tyler Palko
• DB Ricky Price
• WR Verran Tucker
• LB Pierre Walters

I'm not too surprised at any of these. Palko woud be one quick transaction away if Matt Cassel went down.

What do you think of the practice squad? About what you expected?

I thought the might bring Lokey back but other than that it's about what I expected.

Over half our practice squad are folks who didn't make it on our team.

So... let's bring them back in, shall we?

How long has this guy been filling the back end of our roster? Isn't this his third season here?

Thats pretty much how the practice squad works....

Nice of you to pay attention to the off-season.

He was picked up by us as an UDFA rookie that played last season at the University of Minnesota.

One of those guys that could have went in the fourth round or undrafted. He was the later. Purportedly a good guy, a very hard worker that needs to get stronger in the weight room and on the field, but has some potential, i.e., practice squad material.

Um... he was starting for us while Waters was injured...and then he got injured...

Undrafted rookie from I think Minnesota. Good to see that they saw enough to keep him. I didn't see him at all this preseason, so no idea if the kid's any good.

Pierre Walters is a better LB than that Justin Cole guy. I've never even ****ing heard of him.

Cole was the guy who caused Arenas' kick return TD in ATL to get called back.

He was also a pretty productive player at SJSU.
