CHIEFS FANS CHOOSE NEW SIGNATURE SANDWICH AT NEW ARROWHEAD
RED AND GOLD SHORT RIB MELT JOINS RENOVATED STADIUM’S REVAMPED MENU
Kansas City Chiefs fans will have to wait until Monday to see which players make an early impact on the Chiefs 2010 season, but one rookie already has the respect of Arrowhead Stadium’s “Sea of Red.”
The Chiefs and ARAMARK, the team’s new food and beverage partner in concessions, announced today that fans have chosen the Red and Gold Short Rib Melt – pulled short ribs, grilled onions and white American and Havarti cheeses on Parmesan-crusted toast – as the new signature sandwich for Arrowhead Stadium.
In voting during the Chiefs’ two home preseason games and online at
www.arrowheadsandwich.com, the Red and Gold Short Rib Melt (52 percent of votes) outgained the KC BBQ Dog (a foot-long hot dog, topped with barbecue baked beans, diced burnt ends, smoked bacon, cole slaw, pickles and house-recipe, Kansas City-style barbecue sauce), which earned 29 percent, and the Arrowhead Sunrise Stack (chicken fried steak, hash browns, fried egg, bacon, sausage gravy, sassy slaw piled on a Kansas City cheddar cheese biscuit), with 19 percent.
The Red and Gold Short Rib Melt will be offered at four grill locations (sections 103, 135, 302 and 325) inside Arrowhead Stadium, beginning with Monday’s season opener against the San Diego Chargers.
ARAMARK has revamped the menu at renovated Arrowhead Stadium to mark its first season as the Chiefs’ concessions partner. KC Smoked Brisket Cheesesteaks, Monster Chicken or Beef Nachos and Tex-Mex Burritos join the Red and Gold Short Rib Melt and stadium favorites like hot dogs, grilled Italian sausages and chicken tenders on the menu for the 2010 season.
