The Kansas City Chiefs announced on Wednesday that the club has signed LB Charlie Anderson. The team also placed LB Cameron Sheffield on injured reserve. Anderson (6-4, 250) has played in 92 games (seven starts) with Houston (2004-07) and Miami (2008-09) and has also played in one postseason contest. He has recorded 62 tackles (42 solo), 7.5 sacks (-60.0 yards), two passes defensed, four forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. Anderson originally entered the NFL as a sixth-round draft pick of Houston in 2004. The Jackson, Mississippi native saw action in 48 contests (31 starts) at Mississippi, registering 127 tackles, 12.5 sacks, three forced fumbles and five passes defensed. He prepped at Provine High School in Jackson, Mississippi. Sheffield (6-2, 257) was a fifth-round selection (142nd overall) of Kansas City in the 2010 draft. The Portal, Georgia native played in 47 games (37 starts) at Troy, registering 161 tackles (109 solo), 15.0 sacks (-85.0 yards), 55 QB pressures, two fumble recoveries, five forced fumbles, eight passes defensed and an INT. Too bad, kid looked good in preseason. |
Shoulda been a college team captain....
That really sucks. I thought for sure that he was gonna make a comeback soon.
get him well, see you at training camp...
i figured we move torbibo?(NT) up from practice squad...
then realized we have Magee who was inactive...looks like his pathetic ass will get another shot with Jackson's injury |
And of course he was a Dolphin.
They're going overboard with this shit. |
anderson was a good special teamer with the texans and dolphins....
With Sheffield on IR we should have taken a look at Adalius Thomas as a situational rusher to give Hali a breather. He would have been worth it on a one year contract.
**** you for Bernard Pollard!
I heard Sheffield was making a full recovery until a freak accident last week. Something to do with a rogue ambulance hitting him after practice.
What in the world is a spinal cord concussion ?
According to rotoworld that is what Sheffield was put on Injured Reserve for. |
Super Bowl?
It sounds like they at least signed a productive special teams player.

Hopefully, he'll be able to play football next year. These things can be tricky. |
