10 Reasons For Reasonably INSANE ENTHUZIAZM!!1! for this week's game.
This place isn't nearly AAAAAMMPPPEEEDDDDD UUUUPPPPP enough for this upcoming game.
LET'S GET THIS SHIT ON, YOU ****ING PANSIES But, let's do so reasonably. Surely we can strike the difference between intense, unbridled homerism and cautious optimism. We all know this is going to be a tough game. A GAME WHERE WE LEAVE TIRE TRACKS ON THEIR ****ING THROATS Yes, indeed. But a tough game none the less. So while we are underdogs here (BEWARE OF TEH DOGZ, BITCH -- ARF ARF MOTHER****ER), there are actual parts of our game plan that haven't warranted threads yet that play decidedly into our favor. Here's ten reasons, doing my best to balance reason with ol' fashioned enthusiasm, why we have a chance. 1. JUST TRY BREAKING OUT THAT STABLE AND SEE WHERE IT TAKES YOU. ADDAI WILL BE GLUE BY THE TIME WE'RE THROUGH. 2. Yes, the Colts cannot run the ball on us. Their offensive line has been in shambles for the better part of the season so far, especially on the edges. Their tackles can't get it done -- and that's where our defense is at its strongest. Their best shot is to go straight downhill at Edwards with Saturday and maybe Donald Brown. Belcher has been great for thumping here, but Edwards is still a weakness. I'd like to see the official debut of Shaun Smith at NT to remedy this problem. 3. THAT "O" IN OUR LOSS COLUMN STANDS FOR OOOOH NOOOO ARENAS BREAKS FREE AGAIN 4. That said, Arenas is a huge selling point on this team. After suffering through the worst special teams play I've ever seen during Herm's tenure, Haley has brought an amazing discipline that has made our special teams play amazing. We have won field position in every game we've played this year because of McCluster and Arenas. In what might be a shootout with the Colts, it will be a lot easier if Cassel has to go 55 yards and Manning has to go 90. 5. THIS AIN'T YOUR MOTHER'S PREVENT, MANCHILDS. THE ONLY THING WE PREVENT IS YOUR HAPPINESS. 6. Crennel has been very successful against Manning because he brings a lot of pressure. He doesn't Herminate our chances by playing soft and keeping everything underneathe. He's shown resounding trust in Berry and Lewis, and doesn't really play our secondary as if it's run by rookies, which it is. This will allow for a couple big plays, but otherwise Manning may just have to stick to his hot reads to escape the pressure. 7. YOU WANT TO TRY AND STEAL FIRSTS BY USING YOUR TIGHT END??? MCGRAW WILL TAKE A BITE OUT OF CRIME. 8. Dallas Clark is a wonderful route-runner, but he's not a better athlete or a faster runner than Vernon Davis, whom Jon McGraw remained glued to against the 49ers. I'd love to see Berry get more time against tight ends to see where it leads (I truly think he can be a shut-down guy), but if McGraw can keep Clark to three catches, 25 yards on the day, and take him out of the red zone, Manning's lost a very reliable target. The guy isn't Tony G; he can be marked. 9. WE ARE SO DEEP AT CORNER YOU'RE GOING TO NEED A LIFEVEST TO STAY AFLOAT 10. Okay, not that deep, but our two corners can do a great job in keeping Wayne and Collie contained to a good degree. And Arenas is proving to be a phenomenal 3rd corner. For the first time in ages, your WRs will have to beat our CBs by actually playing better, not by simply having more depth there. Flowers, Carr, and Arenas is a great (though young) trio to have against a deep WR corps. All that said, we can seriously do this. We can do this. WE CAN DO THIS. WEEEEE CAAAAAN DOOOOO THIIIISSSSS. |

I'm gonna be driving back from St. Louis during the game. Whether I watch the DVR taping or not remains to be seen.

I was getting pumped up until I read 7 and 8. McGraw come on man. Were doomed if he is starting.
