Chiefs need to still learn the lesson of......

not playing down to their competition. They are still learning how to win and part of that process is taking care of business "early" against a lesser opponent especially at home.

Crennel was smart "not stacking the box" today allowing Moreno to get his yds because he knows that Moreno doesn't have JC type speed to take it to the house. Knowing this and also having McGraw back in the line up to provide for wiser better safety play against the pass which is Denver's "bread and butter" allowed Carr to have his "shut down" day. Crennel played it smart and didn't get sucked in to stuffing the run at all cost knowing his D-line and pass rush is mediocre at best:thumb:

It is clear that McKid's overhaul of this Broncos team has failed miserably reducing the talent level so much so that when the opponent has a Murphy's law type of game that provided soooooooo many opportunities both offensively and defensively to capitalize on but CAN"T means a change needs to occur.

We tried giving this game away but the Broncos rejected it even more than we wanted to give it so I will take this ugly win.

The Chiefs didn't play down to the level of their competition. They ****ing dominated on both sides of the ball, but didn't finish because of dumb penalties.

Huge difference.

Totally disagree. Mental discipline is a big part of not playing down to your competition, not allowing the "dumb penalties" to occur so that you can take care of business "early"

Plus there are always teams that you struggle with. The Broncos seem to be that team for us, while SD struggles with Oakland.

Scoreboard.

What?

We beat the ass of our last two "lesser opponents."

Pretty much. We had this game against the Cheaters but failed to finish them.

Very true.

And we let up off the offensive gas pedal today against another lesser opponent because of many mental and physical miscues. More mental mistakes than physical for sure.

We had 400 yards of offense.

The only thing we screwed up with was on pre-snap penalties.

That has nothing to do with the competition.

You feel comfortable with that scoreboard going into SD next week "regardless" if SD wins today or not? I'd much rather see that scoreboard say 32-6.

kysirsoze 12-05-2010 05:39 PM

I guess if we don't blow everyone out we're guilty of playing down to our competition.

That offense didn't dominate my dead grandmother, pal. But you're right about not finishing.

We had 191 yards passing and 185 yards rushing, and we converted 6 of 14 third downs.

The only thing that stopped the Chiefs was the Chiefs, not the Broncos.
