Chargers In For Cold, Snow In Cincinnati

Win or lose, when the Kansas City Chiefs are finished with their game against the Tennessee Titans tomorrow, a few players may want to stay behind in the locker room to watch the afternoon game between the San Diego Chargers and the Cincinnati Bengals.

By now you all know the situation. The Chiefs can clinch the AFC West title tomorrow if they win and the Chargers lose. If the Chiefs win and the Chargers win, then the Chiefs will have to beat the Oakland Raiders next week at Arrowhead. If the Chiefs lose and the Chargers win…well, we’re not going to talk about that.

I am not trying to look past the importance of the Chiefs winning tomorrow. I am by no way saying that the Titans will be easy to defeat but the fact that Kansas City has to take care of business tomorrow goes without saying.
What I am most interested in, is the game that will happen in Cincinnati. On paper the Chargers should destroy the Bengals. Cinci has won only 3 games all year and the Chargers are one of the most talented teams in the league and are fighting for a playoff spot.

Still, the Bengals are a dangerous team that is only one year removed from the playoffs itself. Cincinnati also swept the Ravens and the Steelers last year which anyone will tell you is no small task.
One thing working in KC’s favor tomorrow is that the Chargers have to leave the comfort and sunny weather of San Diego to travel to cold Cincinnati Ohio.
According to weather.com, Cincinnati will be enjoying some snow showers tomorrow and the temperature at kickoff will be about 30 degrees and it will feel like 19 degrees.

Will the cold weather and snow throw San Diego off their game? It is possible. The Bolts are only 2-4 on the road this season and are susceptible to mental lapses so anything that can throw the Chargers off their game and make them uncomfortable could really help the Chiefs.

If the Chiefs win tomorrow, will you be scoreboard watching?

I'd be scoreboard watching with or without a win from KC tomorrow. But I don't know...it's not like SD are a bunch of puffs just because they're from California. Their D is still good and they have a good running game. I bet that's all they'll need to beat the Bunglez.

Wow.

It would be pretty amazing if we clinched tomorrow.

It'd sure make the drive home far more enjoyable. Last drive home from Arrowheadwe we were pretty thrilled by Oakland's ownage in SD, so you never know.

I don't know what the stats are anymore, but years ago the Chargers had an abysmal record in games they played in when the temperature at kickoff was under 32 degrees...

I think you're thinking of the Bucs.

Well considering they were about 2352542-0 in December under Norv coming into this season, I'm gonna guess that's not the case anymore. Might as well start up the streak again though. What do ya think, Phillip?

I think that means yes. Bengals 24, Chargers 19. (I think that's the score they beat us by when we were 9-0)

Since 2006, the Chargers have played in four games 32 degrees or less and are 2-2. Both losses came in the playfoffs, to New England and Pittsburgh.

As much as I'd like to see the Chargers lose. I just don't see it happening.

I'm sure every other team in the playoffs would rather see KC than SD fwiw.

Didn't the Chargers play a snow game in Cleveland or somewhere a few years back? And they whooped ass. I remember Gates running like 80 yards for a TD in the snow with nobody near him.

Does it really matter if it was Cleveland?

The Raiders game is gonna be fun with nothing on the line but revenge.

**** revenge. If that game is really meaningless, I say rest everybody and laugh at the fact those cocksmokers went 6-0 in the division and got 3rd place.
